Spring is still a few days away but the warm temperatures are descending on Newfoundland and parts of Labrador, and will make it feel as if the calendar has already flipped to the next season.
The mercury is going to hit double digits in many areas for a couple of days, meaning significant melt.
Meteorologist Rob Carroll says many areas across the island away from the onshore flow will be in for a nice warm-up.
Areas where winds are onshore will be cooler as the drizzle and fog will stick around today, while areas outside may see a few sunny breaks with temperatures in the low double digits.
Temperatures will actually remain above freezing on most of the island, including the overnight hours, for the better part of the week according to Environment Canada’s long-range forecast.
Central and southern Labrador will also experience double digit weather today with a high of eleven degrees.
In Ontario, temperatures hit into the high teens over the weekend.
