The inflation rate rose to 2.6 per cent across Canada in February, according to the latest numbers released by Stats Canada today.
However, the numbers show that had the tax holiday – which ended in mid-February – not been taken into account, inflation would have risen to 3 per cent last month.
In Newfoundland and Labrador, inflation rose to 1.2 per cent from 0.8 per cent the previous month, while in St. John’s inflation rose to 1.1 per cent in February from 0.8 per cent in January.
