Fisheries protests are continuing this morning as representatives meet with minister Joanne Thompson.
The FFAW spent the weekend protesting changes to snow crab quotas in area 3K, saying 20 and 25 per cent cuts will force harvesters to keep their boats on shore.
Last night, harvesters gathered at the Convention Centre in downtown St. John’s where Prime Minister Mark Carney held a campaign rally, however they were not allowed to enter the building.
Thompson, and other officials, will meet with representatives at the Canadian Coast Guard Building on South Side Road at 11 a.m.. Protestors will gather outside the building at that time.
VOCM News will have more information as it becomes available.
