The Town of Torbay is getting $27-million from the federal government to upgrade its water capacity and quality.
Area MP Joanne Thompson and Mayor Craig Scott say the funding will support the development of Great Pond as a municipal water supply. It will include the construction of a water intake and water treatment facility.
Mayor Scott says they have had projects on hold, such as the community park by the town hall, because of the limitations presented by the situation.
