A 47-year-old man from Hawke’s Bay is facing a list of charges following a series of events that ended with a crash on the highway near Port Saunders on the weekend.
The disturbance began around 11:30 Saturday night at a commercial property in Reef’s Harbour with allegations of an assault, theats and damage to property.
Chad Sinnicks, who was identified as the suspect, reportedly drove away before police arrived.
RCMP located the suspect vehicle and attempted to pull it over, but the driver sped away. It was later found in a ditch on the side of the road.
Sinnicks is facing a list of charges including impaired driving, flight from police, assault, uttering threats, damage to property and various offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
The investigation continues with more charges pending.
