A man and woman were arrested, and weapons and drugs seized after the recent search of a home in Gillams.

RCMP, with a warrant in hand, searched a home on Pioneer Avenue in Gillams on Friday evening.

Two people, a man and a woman, both 44 years old, were arrested without incident.

Seized from the home were a quantity of drugs, including 1.5 ounces of cocaine and prescription pills. Also seized were brass knuckles, a handgun that is believed to be an airsoft pistol, and other items consistent with possession for the purpose of drug trafficking.

Both accused are scheduled to attend court at a later date on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine. The man is facing an additional charge of possession of a prohibited weapon.

The investigation continues with further charges possible.
