A Canadian music icon, who is hosting this year’s Juno Awards, has responded with enthusiasm to Holy Heart of Mary’s attempts to fulfill music teacher Robert Colbourne’s dream to meet Michael Bublé
Colbourne, who has been a teacher and choral director for more than 20 years, is nominated for Musicounts Teacher of the Year.
He told VOCM News in February that while he was humbled by the nomination, he was most excited about the possibility of meeting Juno host Michael Bublé.
@hhmchoral Our music teacher Mr. Colbourne has been nominated for MUSIC TEACHER OF THE YEAR JUNO AWARD! We couldn’t be more excited for him! “I have to say, I’m really looking forward to going. Michael Bublé is hosting and I’m a huge fan, so I’m hoping to get a picture with Michael Bublé so that we can display it either at home, or at Holy Heart.”
That prompted his students to create a video, and tag Bublé with a musical request on behalf of their teacher.
It seems like the effort worked, with Bublé responding enthusiastically on TikTok about how much he loves the video.
The Junos take place this Sunday.
