The City of Corner Brook now has more details on its plan to make public transit more accessible to certain brackets.
The provincial government announced funding for the city a few months ago to expand the transit network.
Starting Tuesday, the city will provide free bus passes to residents on income support, young people receiving youth services, and seniors receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement.
Those on income support and young people receiving services will be contacted directly by their provincial representatives. Seniors receiving GIS can get their monthly passes by visiting City Hall starting Tuesday.
A government-issued ID and proof of GIS will be required.
The city says the doubling of bus capacity and the introduction of the M-Card system demonstrates its commitment to public transit.
