A woman who tried to make off with a load of meats from a centre city grocery store found herself in the lockup last night.
RNC were called to Sobeys on Ropewalk Lane around 11:30 last night, just before the woman was about to take off with her haul of stolen meats.
The 40-year-old then tried to give officers the runaround, giving them a fake name. It wasn’t enough to fool police, who confirmed her identity, and found she had three warrants out for her arrest.
She was charged with breach of probation, breach of release order and public mischief.
She was held for court.
The meats were returned to the store.
