Energy Minister Andrew Parsons says there are no timelines for conversations with two proponents looking to take over the Bull Arm site.
The government announced yesterday that they are moving toward negotiations with two proponents – DF Barnes and NARL Marketing, to see what the potential is, though the government is not bound to do anything with either company. That could be either the sale of the asset entirely or a lease.
Parsons says Bull Arm is Atlantic Canada’s largest fab site, and it has an “extensive value.”
He believes that value comes from what has worked out there, noting that they have had some major projects out there before.
Parsons says the two companies have their partners “in line,” and now the negotiations will explore what is possible, noting that he would like to see something done sooner rather than later.
