Canadian and American markets took a nose dive today in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest round of tariffs.
The Dow Jones plummeted by 1,000 points this morning, the Nasdaq plunged by nearly 900 points, while the TSX fell by just over 600 points.
Trump’s reciprocal tariffs on several foreign countries, as well as levies on aluminum, steel and automobile imports have stirred up fears over the possibility of a recession.
Markets in Asia and Europe, where many countries will be hit with reciprocal tariffs, have also taken a hit in response to last night’s news.
