The RNC is spreading the message about distracted driving, something that is a growing factor in road and highway collisions.

RNC Constable James Cadigan says taking your eyes off the road, even for a few seconds to check your phone or fiddle with the options on your console, can have dangerous consequences.

He says a driver has a great responsibility when behind the wheel and if distracted driving is determined to be a factor in a crash, there are a number of offences that could apply, including using a cell phone or other device while driving and driving without due care and attention.
