The St. John’s Board of Trade says there is a “unanimous desire” to push the removal of interprovincial trade barriers forward in Atlantic Canada.
The organization, as part of the Atlantic Canada Capital City Chambers, was recently part of a roundtable that included stakeholders from across the region.
Board of Trade CEO AnnMarie Boudreau says there is a lot of common ground and a lot of regulations that are proving to be “roadblocks” for industry.
Boudreau says they will be looking at prioritizing certain industries, such as transportation and trucking.
She states that there was “a lot of interest” in figuring out how to streamline some of the regulations around that industry.
