A Corner Brook lawyer has been disbarred from the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Kenneth Ledrew was found in violation of a number of areas, including failure to report a criminal charge and failure to cooperate with the Law Society.
Ledrew has to pay a fine of over $5,600 and was ordered not to practice law in this province until further notice.
It’s not the first run-in with a law society.
Ledrew was fighting with the Law Society of Alberta, where he was practicing out of Medicine Hat.
Like in Newfoundland and Labrador, he was alleged to have an inappropriate tone with the Law Society of Alberta, but this time because of failure to pay fees to the society.
He was also cited for “failing to perform all functions competently.”
He was subsequently disbarred from practicing in Alberta less than a year ago, and has been ordered to pay the society there $40,000.
