Police have lifted the shelter-in-place advisory for residents in the Thorburn Road area of St. John’s.
The advisory was issued around 9 p.m. as officers investigated a possible weapons offence.

UPDATE #2- 11:45 pmThe shelter in place order is now lifted for the area of Thorburn Rd. Residents are free to move around once again. There will be an increased police presence in the area while the investigation continues.

The advisory affected the stretch between Prince Philip Drive and O’Leary Avenue.
Police say people are free to move as usual but noted there will be an increased police presence in the area throughout the night.
