Several people were forced out of a home by the RNC’s tactical unit last night after possible shots fired on Thorburn Road prompted an advisory for area residents to shelter in place.
Residents in the Thorburn Road area between O’Leary Avenue and the parkway were ordered to stay inside around 9 p.m. after reports of what sounded like gun shots rang out, followed by an argument between two people.
The roadway across from the mall parking lot was blocked off as the tactical unit zeroed in a home. The incident was contained to that address for over two hours with the shelter in place advisory being lifted just before midnight.
Videos shared by area residents show multiple people walking out of the home, although there is no word on any arrests or any charges.
RNC say there is no danger to the public and there may be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
