The number of lab-confirmed cases of influenza in the province remain high, with hospitalizations continuing to climb.

The number of cases peaked on March 9th, and appear to have leveled off at approximately 200 confirmed cases a week since then.

The number of people hospitalized with the flu reached 81 over the previous week, three of whom are in critical care.

Six people died over the last week, with another two deaths brought over from the previous reporting period.

Influenza is peaking late this year, compared to the seasonal average which over the last five years has typically been in the early winter.
