A Clarenville businessman is trying to do his part for cancer care in the province, five dollars at a time.
The Five for April campaign is asking all those who can to donate $5 to Daffodil Place, which provides a place to stay for people who have to come to St. John’s for cancer treatment.
Organizer Junior Peddle says cancer has affected several people in his family, including his dad and his sister.
Most recently, his fiancé’s father was diagnosed and spent time at Daffodil Place.
He says he got a “true picture” of what the facility means to so many, and the importance of it.
The fundraiser runs until the end of the month.
