A 57-year-old man has been arrested and charged as the result of an investigation into a reported sexual assault against a young man.
The complaint came in on March 9th in which a young man alleged that he had been sexually assaulted by another man in a home in the centre city area of St. John’s.
The RNC’s Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit has laid of charge of sexual assault against William (Bill) Howse.
He was held in custody pending a court appearance.
RNC say the investigation is active and open and anyone with information is asked to contact the RNC at 709-729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
The RNC is urging all survivors of sexual violence to reach out for help from a trusted resource as soon as it is safe to do so, and members of the RNC’s Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit are available to speak with anyone with information or questions.
