The Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association is holdings its biennial general meeting in St. John’s beginning today.
The three-day event will see over 200 NLTA members converge at the Sheraton Hotel to debate and discuss various resolutions, as well as take in other sessions and speakers.
The convention will also be the final one for association president Trent Langdon as incoming president Dale Lambe begins his term on August 1.
Langdon says he is going into the event with “mixed emotions.”
He says he is excited for his next chapter, but he notes that he will “miss this place big time.” Langdon believes it has been a successful four years and they have accomplished a lot. Langdon says while he will be heading back to the classroom, he will still have a role as the past president in the year after he steps away.
The event starts today and ends Thursday.
