Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed yesterday that U.S. President Donald Trump once again referenced Canada as a “51st state” in a phone conversation held at the end of March.
Carney addressed some of the president’s public comments this week at a campaign stop in British Columbia yesterday, and told reporters that he made his thoughts clear when Trump raised it in conversation last month.
“It will never happen” says Carney.
