The sexual assault trial for five former junior hockey players has ground to a sudden halt after a mistrial was declared by the judge.
It comes on just the fourth day of the trial which was scheduled to last about eight weeks.
It’s not yet known what issue arose to warrant the shocking development.
The jury was immediately dismissed by the judge this morning in London, Ont.

The accused, former members of Canada’s world junior hockey team, were charged after the alleged incident at a London hotel in 2018.
A new trial must now be held for Michael McLeod, Carter Hart, Alex Formenton, Dillon Dube and Cal Foote.
McLeod faces an additional count of being a party to an offence.
All five have pleaded not guilty.
