The province reached a new agreement with PAL Airlines for a seasonal service route connecting St. John’s, Gander and Deer Lake.
The routes will run from June 15 to September 20, four days per week—something the tourism department hopes will benefit the local industry.
The department says the new services gives travellers more ways to get around.
In the meantime, the province is continuing to explore options with Labrador airport partners on ways to improve air access for those traveling to, or from, Labrador. Those options include federal fees, charges and other taxes that put an added strain on passengers, airlines and airports.
