The Town of Labrador City is moving forward with a major expansion of its skatepark, awarding a $1.28 million contract to Drop In Skateparks for design and construction.
The project will replace aging above-ground ramps with a modern concrete pad, aimed at creating a safer, more durable, and inclusive space for skateboarders of all ages and skill levels.
In a release, Mayor Belinda Adams said the expansion supports the town’s goal of promoting healthy, active lifestyles while providing youth with a dedicated, accessible space to develop their skills.
Work on the new facility is expected to begin soon.
