The fire that has been ravaging the Adam’s Cove area has been contained, according to a social media post by the town.
They say assessments are now ongoing and there are more updates to come.
Government confirmed earlier today that at least 20 structures have been impacted by the blaze, which came on quickly and fiercely yesterday afternoon.
Weather conditions were expected to be favourable in the area this afternoon with rain showers moving in.
Existing evacuation orders remain in place.

Government has confirmed that over 20 structures have been impacted by the wildfires in Conception Bay North.
The wildfire quickly began raging through several small communities yesterday afternoon. People were evacuated but the level of destruction is still unclear.
The North Shore Highway near Adam’s Cove remains closed. Fog in the area prevented waterbombers from flying out at first light, but they are now in the air. The fire is not yet contained but Paul Adams, a councilor in Small Point, is hopeful that firefighters will get the upper hand today.
A state of emergency remains in effect. The evacuation zone has been moved to now include residents from Blackhead Brook north.
While an evacuation order is not in place, evacuation is advised for Western Bay – south of River Loop Road.
Persalvic School in Victoria, the A-Y-L-A Building in Lower Island Cove, the Salem Community Centre in Small Point and Cabot Academy in Western Bay have been opened up for those who have been forced out of their home.
The town hopes to have a Starlink site available at the Salem Community Centre this afternoon, which will allow them to provide more regular updates.
Gerry Rogers, former leader of the NDP, rushed to her property in the region yesterday afternoon, remaining on site as the wildfire raged on nearby. She has since evacuated her property.
Rogers and her partner, Peg Norman, were on Your VOCM Mornings speaking of the harrowing experience. She believes that most of those were seasonal homes.
600 hectares impacted
Meanwhile, power has been cut to hundreds of homes in the area as crews asses the damage to the area, which is estimated to be at least 600 hectares.
Justice and Public Safety Minister Bernard Davis says more updates about the fire situation will come this afternoon, noting that the weather conditions look favorable for their response this afternoon.
Davis says ground crews are engaged, and he’s has spoken with his federal counterpart in Ottawa about their willingness to step in if needed.
In terms of damage on the ground, Davis did not want to get into specifics but he be believes about 600 hectares of land is affected.
Rain on the way
Some showers will be moving into the region this afternoon.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Ian Hubbard says a low-pressure system will bring some showers late this afternoon and into the evening.
He says there won’t be much in terms of amounts, only a couple of millimeters, but it will dampen the conditions.
According to Hubbard, winds will be coming out of the southwest and will generally be around 30 km/h throughout the day.
