It’s doubtful that the owners thought that they would ever see it again but the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has retrieved an ATV first reported stolen nine years ago.
Police nabbed the vehicle during a checkpoint in Torbay that specifically targeted off-road vehicles.
The operator fled from police, abandoning the vehicle in the process. It was later determined that the machine had been stolen in 2016.
Meanwhile, the RNC issued seven tickets to adult riders during the four-hour enforcement initiative for offences such as operating on a highway, having no registration and no insurance.
