Some pretty cool cats will be hanging out on the east end of Newfoundland Drive pretty soon.
The Crazy Cat Lady Hotel and Spa, at the corner of Glover Place, got two claws up from St. John’s city council yesterday.
The site will provide spoiling, grooming and overnight accommodations for cats, with at least one employee always on site.
And while it may not be the Fur Seasons or even the Paw-liday Inn, Councillor Ophelia Ravencroft says it’ll fill a niche.
“As the partner of a person with three cats I’ve had many conversations around this kind of thing,” they said. “Great use of space, great application and wonderful business name as well: Crazy Cat Lady Hotel and Spa Inc.—gave me the biggest smile around the council table in about a year.”
A medical clinic in the same building at 262 Newfoundland Drive will continue operating, albeit in a smaller space.
