The actor behind the beloved barfly Norm in ‘Cheers’ has passed away.
George Wendt passed away yesterday at the age of 76.
Wendt began his career in the arts after discovering improv comedy and theatre in the 1970s.
His breakout came in 1982 when he assumed the role of Norm, a beer-loving regular at Sam Malone’s bar.
Wendt appeared in all 275 episodes of Cheers, earning six Emmy nominations for best supporting actor in a comedy series.
