The Mayor of Paradise is sounding the alarm over damage being caused by off-road vehicles tearing up local sports fields.
Mayor Dan Bobbett says a number of drivers are taking to softball and soccer fields, popping wheelies and causing damage. He says it’s costing the town thousands, but catching the criminals has become a challenge.
“It’s very difficult when you’re on… either a dirt bike or ATV. They know that they can scoot off into the trails or wherever they want to go and nobody’s going to follow them there but, it’s a difficult situation and it’s unfortunate.”
Bobbett says the damage has been happening on a regular basis, and now he’s starting to hear of other safety concerns, such as pedestrians almost being struck by ATVs while out on trails.
