Members of the Victoria Volunteer Fire Department have resigned en masse and withdrawn their services, citing what they call “disrespectful” treatment from the Victoria Town Council.
Fire Chief Justin Parsons says 20 of 24 members of the fire department have agreed to step down until a list of issues are resolved.
“We need to take a stand,” Parsons said in a statement made on Facebook live before leaving the fire hall.

Mayor Barry Dooley, who was confronted outside the fire hall by residents, blamed the disruption on a breakdown in communications.
