A popular summer festival on the Northern Peninsula will not be going ahead this year.
Organizers of Food, Fibs and Fiddles confirmed on social media the cancellation of the July 19 event in Gunners Cove, citing persistent logistical challenges that made it impossible to deliver the high standard audiences have come to expect. Despite significant planning and a clear path forward, organizers say the decision was made in the interest of preserving the long-term health of the festival.
“This is a massive and complex undertaking in a remote location,” said the non-profit group Food, Fibs and Fiddles Inc. in a public statement. “We made this decision independently, but with the support of our partners and artists. No one withdrew from the event.”
Last year’s edition of the festival was widely celebrated and described by some performers and partners as “monumental.”
Full ticket and shuttle refunds will be issued in the coming days.
Organizers say special perks will be offered to 2025 ticket holders when the festival returns.
