NL Health Services says a quantity of a powerful opioid that went missing while en route to the new hospital in Corner Brook, has been found.
RNC issued a warning to the public of the possibility that remifentanil, a narcotic typically used for pain control during surgery, was unaccounted for after being shipped to the new Western Memorial Regional Hospital last week.
In a statement on Friday, NLHS said the matter was resolved after the package was located by the courier company.
The health authority says there was no impact on operations or patient care, and all processes for the secure handling of controlled substances were followed.
No other details were released about the brief disappearance of the narcotic.
