A man spent the night in jail after trying to run someone over in the centre city area last evening.
Police got word of suspicious activity in the area around suppertime, but things escalated before officers could get to the scene.
The man involved in the initial report had since attempted to run someone over and then rammed their vehicle.
The driver took off and was later picked up by police in Bay Bulls.
The 29-year-old has been charged with assault with a weapon, mischief, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failure to comply with a release order. He was held for court.
