RNC seized a weapon from a vehicle tracked from the centre city right out to Conception Bay South yesterday morning.

Police tried to haul the car over just before 9:30 but the driver hit the gas and got away.

The same vehicle was spotted in CBS a short time later and this time the man behind the wheel was taken into custody.

Officers also found a weapon inside of the car.

The man has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, dangerous operation and flight from police.

He was held for court.
