Two men are facing numerous weapons-related charges after an unusual series of events that police believe may be connected to a shooting on Ropewalk Lane last week.
The Constabulary’s phones were ringing on Thursday, August 14th with reports about erratic driving and hit and run collisions involving a pick-up truck
The truck described, and some of its distinct features, matched those of a truck seen speeding away from the scene of a shooting on Ropewalk Lane earlier that morning.
The 40-year-old shooting victim was treated for his injuries and, as of earlier this week, was still in hospital.
Officers located the suspect vehicle on Cashin Avenue around 10:15 that night. The truck sped away but was located after crashing on Crosbie Road a short time later.
The two occupants of the truck fled on foot, but were arrested.
