A live briefing on the wildfire situation in the province will take place this morning at 9:30.

Mother Nature played a strong hand in helping with fire suppression efforts in Conception Bay North yesterday.

Nearly 35 mm of rain allowed ground crews from this province and British Columbia to make solid progress on supressing hot spots.

Officials say locating and dousing hot spots will remain a priority for today.

Due to the weather yesterday, air assets were unable to fly, however they will be back in the sky once conditions have improved.
