A man who had racked up quite the tab in outstanding fines spent the night in jail after a traffic stop in the west end last night.

RNC hauled the car over on Canada Drive around 11 p.m. and discovered that the man behind the wheel was in debt to the tune of over $17,000.

Not only that, the 34-year-old had also breached his probation and release orders.

He was taken to the lockup to appear in court this morning. He was ticketed for various offences under the Highway Traffic Act and his vehicle was impounded.
