Construction begins Monday on a new 2.6-km shared-use path connecting Airport Heights to the Paul Reynolds Centre.
The finished path, which will be about three metres wide, will replace sidewalks in certain areas and align with existing trails. It will include trailheads and rest areas, lighting, crosswalks, signals, and wayfinding.
There will be traffic delays, lane reductions and sidewalk closures during the project, which will take about a year to complete.
Some trees and shrubs will be removed along the route, however new ones will be planted.
