An arrest has been made in connection with a major police operation on Bell Island this morning.
The operation involved the use of tear gas and drones according to area residents.
RCMP took one person into custody with the help of the Critical Incident Program and the RCMP Emergency Response Team.
Police say there is no risk to public safety.
Residents of Bell Island can expect to see an increased police presence in the community as the investigation continues.
