The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is seeking information from the public following a collision involving a police cruiser and an SUV early Thursday morning.

The accident happened just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of New Cove Road and Elizabeth Avenue.

Both of the vehicles involved sustained significant damage.

The two men in the SUV, aged 59 and 47, were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The police officer was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police are asking any witnesses, or people with security footage from the area around the time of the crash, to contact them.
