NDP Leader Jim Dinn is relieving himself of any worry over a poll done before the election began.
The Narrative Research survey was carried out in August and released earlier this week, showing support for Dinn and the NDP had dropped a staggering 10 points, from 19 to 9 per cent.
That’s compared to 59 per cent for the Liberals and 30 per cent for the PCs as they all headed into the election.
Dinn said he doesn’t put much stock in polls prior to a campaign, adding popular candidates such as Sheilagh O’Leary, Laurabel Mba, Nicole Boland and himself have been getting great support at the door.
He even evoked the sentiment of a former Conservative prime minister to shake it all off.
“John Diefenbaker said many, many years ago that the only animal which knows how to treat a poll is a dog, especially polls leading up to an election,” he said. “But in the end the one that really counts is the one on October 14th.”
