RNC and RCMP will be fanning out across the province this long holiday weekend to make sure that drivers are obeying the rules of the road.
Drivers can expect checkpoints and other increased police activity on the roadways throughout the busy travel weekend.
RNC Constable Stephanie Myers says officers are checking for impaired driving, speeding, and distracted driving.
The theme this year is “Safety in My Hands,” stressing each person’s role in ensuring that our roads and highways are safe.
“We all have a responsibility,” says Myers, “so we need the community’s and the public’s help to report those unsafe driving behaviours.”
