The chance purchase of a Set for Life Scratch’N Win ticket has paid off big time for a man from Springdale.

Jeremy White says he could count on one hand how many times he has purchased a scratch ticket in his life, but he did just that at the Orangestore in Deer Lake while waiting for a takeout order at another nearby business.

When he scratched the ticket, White says he couldn’t believe his eyes.

The man was given the option of receiving $1,000 a week for the next 25 years, or a lump sum payment of $675,000. White opted for the lump sum.

White says he will use the money to pay off his mortgage and other bills, and put his three kids through university.
