RCMP responding to a collision in which a vehicle left the road and overturned in a ditch discovered that the driver was driving without insurance.

The crash occurred on the main road in Valleyfield in Bonavista North around 8:30 Sunday morning.

The driver was nowhere to be found when police arrived.

Bystanders reported that the driver had been seen nearby and he eventually returned to the scene with minor injuries, indicating that he had lost control of the vehicle.

New-Wes-Valley RCMP say the driver was driving without required insurance and was ticketed. The vehicle was seized and impounded.
