Premier Tony Wakeham’s new cabinet has been sworn-in.
The ceremony took place this morning at Government House.
The former Liberal government’s 17 member cabinet has been trimmed to just 14 ministers under Tony Wakeham.
Cabinet includes 12 incumbents and two newly elected members.
Some of the key portfolios include Barry Petten as Deputy Premier and transportation and infrastructure minister, Lela Evans as minister of both health and Labrador affairs, Craig Pardy as finance minister, Loyola O’Driscoll as the fisheries minister, and Helen Conway-Ottenheimer as minister of both justice and women and gender equality.

In choosing his cabinet, Wakeham says it was important for him to have representation from around the province and to look at their experiences, education, and what they bring to the table.
“All of these people have that same element that we all have for this place, that passion for Newfoundland and Labrador. The passion to want to help make things better, and I think I’ve got a great representation and a great cabinet.” -Tony Wakeham
