The Royal Canadian Legion’s annual Poppy Campaign has started.
The initiative is a way for people to honour those who have served by wearing a poppy, and to raise funds for the Legion to help support veterans.
Legion spokesperson Jenn Deon says the theme is “remembrance first, always, and forever.”
She says Newfoundlanders and Labradorians have a “great tradition of showing up and remembering service,” not just historically but for military serving today also.
