The newly-elected MHA for Carbonear-Trinity-Bay de Verde is working with constituents who lost their homes and properties in the fires on the Conception Bay North Shore this summer.
The previous government struck a cabinet committee to address a myriad of priorities stemming from the disaster.
What happens now with the recent change in government is not immediately clear, but Riley Balsom says he is committed to ensuring that affected property owners and residents remain a priority.
“We’ve heard from many homeowners, whether they had insurance or not, and listening to them and seeing ….how we can best help them as they move forward, is….priority number one,” says Balsom.
