A driver and his passenger are in trouble with the law after a traffic stop in the west end of St. John’s in the wee hours.
A fake licence plate on a car driving down the road just after 2 a.m. was a red flag for police, so they hauled it over.
Officers discovered that the vehicle in question had recently been reported stolen and that the 37-year-old man behind the wheel had several warrants out for his arrest.
The 29-year-old man riding shotgun was also no stranger to the law as he also had several outstanding warrants.
The two were arrested on outstanding warrants and also face a charge of possession of stolen property.
The two were held for court.
