The Liberal MHA assigned with shadowing the financial activities of government hopes the PC administration builds on gains made by the Liberals in advancing the gross domestic product.
The government of the day pegged GDP in Newfoundland and Labrador last summer at 6.3 per cent, far surpassing the expectations in the spring budget of 4.4 per cent.
Sarah Stoodley, the MHA for Mount Scio, would like to see the Wakeham government make even more economic gains.
“Federally, we’re just under one per cent so the economy in this province is doing really well. I just hope that keeps up but we need the Churchill Falls deal so that we can add tens of thousands of jobs for Newfoundland and Labrador.”
