It’s going to be wet and windy across the island tomorrow for some Remembrance Day services.
Environment Canada has wind and rainfall warnings out for parts of the south and southwest coast tonight and into tomorrow.
Robert Grove, a meteorologist at the Gander Weather Office says the rain will start in the southwest corner overnight Monday, then spread across the island.
By mid to late morning, it will be raining across the island. Areas under a rainfall warning could see 80 to 100 mm of rain with the potential for higher amounts. Winds will be in the 80 – 100 km/h range with the exception of the Wreckhouse where it will be gusting well over 100 km/h.
Any ceremonies in central and eastern Newfoundland may get ahead of the weather with light rain and winds not expected to pick up until early afternoon.
Much of Labrador will be contending with a snow/ice pellet mixture for part of Tuesday.
